== Origin == Tacos are a traditional Mexican dish that consists of a folded or rolled tortilla filled with various ingredients. The exact origins of tacos are somewhat unclear, but they are believed to date back to the 18th century in Mexico. The word "taco" is thought to have originated from the silver mines in Mexico, where miners would use tortillas to hold their food.
