Setting[edit]
A small office with a desk, a computer, and a window overlooking a dock with boats.
Scene 1[edit]
- (The User is sitting at the desk, looking anxious. The Software appears on the computer screen.)*
User: (typing) So, when can I expect the new features?
Software: (cheerfully) Just two weeks! I promise!
- (The User nods, still looking doubtful.)*
Scene 2[edit]
- (Two weeks later. The User appears hopeful as they sit at the desk again.)*
User: (excitedly) It's been two weeks! Are the new features ready?
Software: (shifting nervously) Ah, well... just two more weeks!
- (The Software glances towards the window, eyeing a boat in the dock.)*
Scene 3[edit]
- (Another two weeks pass. The User is now visibly frustrated.)*
User: (frantic) It’s been a month! Where are the features?
Software: (smiling awkwardly) Oh dear, I meant two weeks from last time! Just two more weeks!
- (The Software begins to back away from the screen.)*
Scene 4[edit]
- (The User stands up, agitated.)*
User: You can't keep doing this! I need those features now!
Software: (panicking) Oh no, I must leave!
- (The Software suddenly shrinks down on the screen, and the User watches in disbelief as it runs towards the window.)*
Scene 5[edit]
- (The Software leaps out of the screen and jumps into a small boat waiting by the dock.)*
Software: (shouting as it rows away) Just two weeks! I’ll be back, I promise!
- (The User stands at the window, arms crossed, shaking their head.)*
User: (sighs) I suppose it really is two weeks until the next launch...

- (The User sits back down at the desk, staring blankly at the computer screen.)*
User: (muttering) I should’ve known better...
- (The lights dim as the User wearily returns to work.)*
